		Christian Education Youth (Pre-School - 12^th Grade) We hope for another exciting year for Christian Education. Sunday School Our Sunday School Program for Pre-School through 12^th grade is Seasons of the Spirit, a lectionary based curriculum from Judson Press. It features multiple resources and a variety of experiences to help students engage the Bible and nurture a growing faith. As Christian Educators it is a joy to join God’s children (of all ages) as they hear, experience, and become familiar with the Christian language and stories, and to see spirituality deepen. SCAMP Our SCAMP Program welcomes Kindergarten through 3^rd grade children during the sermon portion of the worship service. This arts and crafts bible-based program helps children connect bible stories with Christian values, like kindness and sharing. Youth Group Our Youth Group participates in a variety of activities for both service and fun including hosting the February pie auction, working the April Patriots Day Booth, and helping with the Christmas Pageant. Many of the youth also share their musical talents throughout the year during regular church services and special events. Community projects supported by our Christian Education program include: A living market held each year in early December in support of Heifer International complete with lots of farm animals to hold and play with Teddy Bear Sunday in February, teddy bears for the children of Sandra’s Lodge Special hungry Sunday collections A pie auction and dinner in February for Community Without Borders, to support a school in Zambia Other meaningful and fun yearly events include: Rally Day in September to welcome back the church family and the Sunday School Children Creating Thanksgiving Baskets for First Baptist Friends Christmas pageant Traditional Easter story and Egg Hunt for younger children A special Children’s Day service in June Vacation Bible School in August YESS - Youth Engaged in Spiritual Song (Grades 3-8) Adult Classes Bible Study "Adults Exploring the Bible Together" – is a 45 minute interactive session that is held in the church library before Sunday Worship from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM. This year we are exploring Romans covering roughly one chapter per week. We participate in reading the chapter to start the session and then a series of questions provided by the facilitator stimulate discussions. We always end with a discussion on how this can be applied to our daily lives. We welcome people to join us for one Sunday or on a regular basis. Typically this is a group where many of our new members and friends first join in and participate. The group will meet starting on Sunday, September 10, 2006 and continue throughout the year. Faith-based Wellness Group “Quiet Your Mind and Hear God” – this is a new Sunday Morning Group. This is a faith-based wellness approach to reading the Bible. Each week we will read, meditate and respond to a selected scripture on the theme of Forgiveness. Starting with an introductory session on September 16th, meeting from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. in room 103.
